Lotte Walda

Netherlands

Dutch singer-songwriter Lotte Walda is known for her catchy melodies, meaningful lyrics, and endearing voice. Just twenty-six years old, she has already traveled globally to bring her music and her optimistic messages to the world. She began her musical journey at a young age, starting to sing before she could even talk. At age eleven she got her first singing lessons and began participating in talent competitions, winning the Pinkpop Cover Contest in 2014. In 2016, Walda performed for sold-out crowds at Paradiso, the renowned Dutch venue, and began releasing singles soon after. Her latest album, "Dragonfly," released in 2023, is a collection of songs that express gratitude, love, and hope for a better future. Describing herself as an "old soul," Walda draws inspiration from nature, her travels, and folk singer-songwriters from the 1970s, such as Joni Mitchell and Melanie.

Her track “Stompin in the Rain,” from the album "Dragonfly," is a cheerful, jazzy tune about playing in the rain: “Melodies in overflow my socks are soakin’ wet / The puddle whispers go, go, go! I’m lively up myself / With my feet stompin’ in the rain.”
