Greek singer-songwriter and actor Giorgis Christodoulou has built a career that moves between music, theater, and film. He has appeared in leading roles in major stage productions including Les Misérables and The Sound of Music and launched his recording career in 1998. Since then, he has released ten albums in Greece and Spain, exploring a wide range of styles that bridge Greek, French, and Spanish traditions. His projects include Attic à Paris, dedicated to lesser-known works by a prominent Greek songwriter, and Barcelonauta, inspired by Barcelona’s jazz heritage. Christodoulou has also composed music for twelve theater productions and performs regularly across Europe, dividing his time between Athens and Barcelona.

The Café International song,"Oute Ena S’ Agapo" (Not Even One 'I Love You' in English), reflects on themes of unspoken love and the emotional weight of words left unsaid. “With empty hands / And shoes that don’t quite fit / My road will be long / But worth it / For home is wherever I rest my soul / Eeny, meeny, miny, moe / I’ll hide within / The good old self I’ve lost / Lost in shadows, lost in silence.”

“An I Agapi Itan Dromos” (If Love Were a Path), showcased on Putumayo's Café Europa features soft acoustic guitar and tender vocals that reflect on love as a journey filled with longing, missed opportunities and imagined alternate realities. “If love were a path / I would have paved it with thousand words / To lead you home / The moon would become the messenger / To send you a sign / So you wouldn’t get lost.”

Christodoulou recorded the French Bossa Nova track “Rêverie” (Reverie), in a bossa nova style specifically for this collection, reimagining an adaptation of the 19th Century Claude Debussy piano piece by French singer Tatiana Eva Marie. With its languid mood, the song recalls Henri Salvador’s 1960 hit “Dans mon île,”which many consider to be the first popular French-language bossa nova song. “I dream / In the blue of a sleepless night / Up above rises / A knowing moon / In a licorice-dark sky / Scattered with wonders / Dreams of joy and beautiful words."
