Gabriella Lima is a Brazilian singer and songwriter whose work bridges Brazilian tropicalismo and French poetic sensibility. Born in São Paulo, she moved to France in 2014 and began performing in a traditional cabaret in Paris’s Latin Quarter, an experience she often cites as formative in shaping her artistic voice. Her debut album Bálsamo (2021) introduced a sound rooted in bossa nova, MPB, and gentle pop, blending rhythmic warmth with introspective songwriting. In 2024, she founded her own label, Biella Realchords, to support the release of her second album Sabor Solaire (2025), continuing to develop a body of work marked by melodic intimacy and emotional openness.
Featured Songs:
“Meu Lugar” (My Place), co-produced with Breno Virícimo, is an intimate reflection on love’s power to transform. Set to a gentle, swaying rhythm with soft Brazilian instrumentation, the song on Putumayo's Latin American Women, explores rediscovery, trust, and choosing to stay when life’s pace feels fleeting. “Slowly and lightly, unexpectedly you found me / Without urgency or hurry, you calmly disarmed me / You fill my soul / With hope where one day was missing / Let me stay and don’t go, in your embrace is where I belong.”
The French Bossa Nova song “Saveur Solaire” (Flavor of the Sun) reflects her French inspirations and evokes summer, longing, and shared memory. “When summer comes our bodies catch fire / On the blue ocean shore / Our bodies intertwine and relax / Ah, nostalgia, summer for two / Let’s meet again like two beautiful waves / I still believe in our bright days / In the warmth that sets us ablaze / Under the sun of Salvador.”
