Rasha Nahas is a Palestinian musician, songwriter, and actress working across music, film, and theatre. Born in Haifa and now based between Berlin and New York, she began playing classical guitar at ten and was writing and performing her own songs within Haifa’s under-ground scene by her teens. Her work moves between poetry, rock, punk, ballads, and Arabic singer-songwriter traditions, placing the guitar and the word at its center. Following her albums Desert (2021) and Amrat (2023), she is preparing anew album produced with Meshell Ndegeocello and recorded in New York. She has performed across five continents, from Glastonbury Festival to the Arctic Circle, and also composes for film and theatre.

Featured Song:

“Ya Binti” (My Girl) is a tender, reflective song addressed to a girl watching time and distance grow between her and someone she loves, recorded at 67 Recording Studio in Majdal Shams, a town in the Golan Heights, with bass by Raymond Haddad and percussion by Rami Nakhlee. “There’s a tear in your eye my girl / A red cherry / Hair turned gray / And years passed / I am here / And you are there / You are you / But who am I.”
