Raya is the stage name of Brazilian songwriter, singer, and trained actress Paula Raia, whose work bridges contemporary popular music and theater. With a solo album, visual projects, and collaborations across Brazil’s cultural scene, she has performed at festivals and venues such as Rock the Mountain and Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. Raya has also composed original soundtracks for productions by Focus Cia. de Dança, including Entre a Pele e a Alma, featuring songs performed by Ney Matogrosso. Alongside musical partner João Mantuano, she released the album Coisa Nossa (2024), expanding her reach through national tours and new recordings.

On her original song “Comentário a Respeito de Belchior” (Comments about Belchior), she is joined by fellow Brazilian singer Júlia Mestre, blending their voices in a reflective duet. The song is a meditation on time, movement, and self-determination. “I’m in a hurry to live life as it is / To keep time in my pocket / I leave behind what’s already been / I leave behind who I’ve already been / Time won’t drag me back / It won’t / I run in a burst, throw my body forward / Toward wherever my heart may be.”
