For “Nimi Nimi,” he collaborates with Heminder Kaur, a London-based physician and devotional singer whose musicality is inspired by nature and Sikh spiritual traditions. Though new to recording, Kaur brings an authentic, heartfelt voice to the project, blending seamlessly with Chag’s textured production. “Nimi Nimi”, short for “Nimi Nimi Hawa Wich” (In the Gentle Breeze), is a luminous ode to the beauty of nature and the joy of movement. The Punjabi lyrics evoke lightness and grace through imagery of butterflies and birds dancing in the morning air: “In the gentle breeze / butterflies sing / With anklets on my feet / I walk and walk.” The song’s soundscape fuses Punjabi vocals with ambient electronica and delicate piano, creating a tranquil, dreamlike experience that uplifts and soothes in equal measure.
