Nadir Benmansour, known artistically as Nadir Ben, is a French-Algerian singer-songwriter whose music blends Andalusian Arab traditions with contemporary folk-pop influences. Born in Tlemcen and raised between the rich musical legacies of Oran and the Mediterranean coast, he grew up immersed in Arab-Andalusian melodies, raï, Gnawa rhythms and North African poetic song. After moving to France, he continued shaping a style that bridges the two shores of his upbringing. His debut album Maturity (2025) explores themes of identity, belonging and memory through Arabic lyrics and broadly accessible melodies. Across projects ranging from traditional ensembles to cross-cultural collaborations, Nadir Ben brings a personal, emotional approach that reflects both the nostalgia of exile and the optimism of renewal.

“Baghi Ntoub” (I Want to Repent) is a reflective and socially conscious song rooted in Algerian and Gnawa traditions. The lyrics express a desire for honesty, responsibility and inner clarity: “I want to repent, I want to purify the heart” and “We all love Algeria, we want to build it with our words.” Elsewhere the song calls for respect for parents and compassion for others, while urging listeners to return to sincerity in faith and speech.
