Featured Songs:
“Baile Nómade” (Nomad Dance) is a festive downtempo track with touches of reggae as well as South American flutes and string instruments. The acoustic elements are mixed with subtle and organic-sounding electronic beats to create a cool mix of traditional and contemporary flavors.
“Nacunda” is a previously unreleased track named for the nacunda nighthawk, a bird native to the Southern Cone. The Lotus Lounge song draws on the landscapes and wildlife of the Andean Altiplano for its atmosphere and instrumentation. Brantmayer plays quena, quenacho, zampoña, transverse flute, bansuri, shakuha-chi, recorder, and ocarina, while Narbona contributes guitars, bass, percussion, legüero, charango, cuatro, and guitarrón. With no electronic elements, the track evokes the open skies and wide terrain of northern Chile and Bolivia through the natural resonance of traditional instruments alone.
