Flávia Dantas

Flávia Dantas

Brazil

Rio-based singer and songwriter Flávia Dantas released her first CD, "Dois Faróis," in 2012. While the songs on her album are her original compositions, Dantas has been inspired by bossa nova legends Joao Gilberto,
Antonio Carlos Jobim and Vinicius Moraes among others. She also sings with the Carioca Orchestra of Samba big band and performs regularly at Beco das Garrafas, the famed Copacabana nightclub in Rio de Janeiro that helped launch the bossa nova craze in the 1950s.

On her original song “Provas de Amor” (Proof of Love), Dantas sings, “Proof of your love, I don’t need it anymore / Love has already tested me too much / And now it’s time to smile, feel and love in abundance.”
