Cuba Quartet
Cuba
Despite their name, Cuba Quartet is actually a trio made up of Swedish musicians Andreas Unge, Gunnar Thullberg, and Thomas de Paula Eby. All three are part of the esteemed Scandinavian timba band Calle Real. Drawing inspiration from iconic Cuban acts such as Buena Vista Social Club and Ibrahim Ferrer, whose music initially led them to live, study, and perform in Cuba, the trio came together to form Cuba Quartet with the aim of recording their own Cuban-inspired music.
These influences come to life in the short but sweet song "Guajira Linda," an infectious instrumental tune that'll have you tapping your toes and grooving along. This classic guajira features lively flute improvisations floating over funky Afro-Cuban rhythms.
