Maurino Alarcón is an Amsterdam-born musician and producer who is the son of Chilean refugees that fled the Pinochet dictatorship. That dual heritage, Dutch upbringing, Latin American roots, sits at the core of his music, a style he calls “future latin,” blending Latin rhythms with electronic production. After a period studying political science and living in Barcelona, he discovered a passion for poetry and the arts. Alarcón returned to Amsterdam, taught himself music production, and founded Fiesta Macumba, a Latin dance event that grew from a small local gathering into one of the Netherlands’ most successful Latin club concepts. Fiesta Macumba events now take place in over a dozen cities. His albums Ahora
Sí (2022) and Entre Mundos (2024) reflect that same cross-cultural energy.

“Estrés” (Stress) is a laid-back, reggae-inflected groove built around a simple but pointed message: slow down, let go, and focus on what matters. While the world rushes past, the song encourages you to stay grounded in family and presence, offering an easy counter rhythm to the anxiety of modern life: “Calm down, take your time / Breathe, in and out / Let go of all the negativity / Come, take a journey with me.”
