GAUMAR, born Margaux Otheguy, is the eldest of a large family and traveled extensively across France with her relatives growing up. She trained at the Cours Florent music program, where she topped her class and met the musician Thomas Leiva, who became her longtime collaborator. GAUMAR began her career in 2019 with her debut album, Jaune, and her single “Yellow” won the Audience Award at the Festival Clip Émergent in Lyon. She signed with Live Nation and, despite the pandemic, opened for artists including Patrick Bruel, Hall and Oates, and LEJ, later touring and releasing another single, “Follow.” In 2022, she opened for Coldplay at the Stade de France.

“Buée” (Mist) appears on GAUMAR’s debut album, Jaune (2019). The song is inspired by deep childhood friendships that endure across time and distance: “Like a cloud of mist on your watch / Like they say, it floats but never sinks / Go on, prove me wrong / Why do I hold the smallest thing I love a little too tight? / It’s not time that’s going to lose out / It’s me, if I freeze up / But I should be able to get used to it / If others are my guideposts.”
