Fanou Torracinta (Corsica)

Fanou Torracinta is a virtuoso guitarist from Corsica whose music is deeply rooted in the jazz manouche tradition made famous by Django Reinhardt. Descended from a family of musicians, he was immersed in the style from childhood, and a pivotal encounter with manouche legend Tchavolo Schmitt cemented his path. He has since performed and recorded with celebrated figures including guitarist Stochelo Rosenberg and violinist Florin Niculescu, and toured the United States with the ensemble Génération Django. In 2020 he launched a solo career built around his own compositions, releasing Gipsy Guitar From Corsica Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 to wide acclaim. His 2024 album La Belle Vie further expanded his palette, featuring original compositions accompanied by a string quartet.
