Emily McLoud is a songwriter, guitarist, and nurse practitioner living in Austin, Texas whose music reflects a deep engagement with nature, introspection, and everyday human experience. Raised with a wide range of musical influences, from classic pop and folk to bluegrass and the Grateful Dead, she developed her voice over years of playing in bands before releasing her solo work. Based in a lifelong connection to music and storytelling, her songs often emerge from careful observation and moments of inspiration, shaped by both her personal life and her work in palliative care. Her first full length album, Where I Am Today, produced by Texas songwriting icon Darden Smith and recorded at The Finishing School in Austin, TX, will be released in 2026..

“Honeybee” explores themes of loyalty, forgiveness, and resilience in the face of hardship and imperfection. Produced by Micah Wagner, McLoud is joined on the song by Nick Chambers on drums, Luis Espaill at on bass, and Eddie Dickerson on fiddle. “You can take my money trash my name / I’ve never known how to play the game / Wreck my car spit on my face / I’m gonna run my own damn race / And when you come wandering back to me / I’ll help you start over pretty honeybee.”
