Argentine band El Cachivache Quinteto, is a popular tango band known for their unique “Tango Punk” style. Founded in 2008 by guitarist and bassist Vito Venturino, who transitioned from rock and jazz to tango, the band delivers a high-energy fusion of traditional tango with a modern flair. Bandoneon player Adriano De Vita joined in 2017, Pacha Mendes, a SADEM-trained musician from Neuquén, Patagonia, came on board in 2014, and Buenos Aires-born Andy Ferrari, a DJ, producer, and pianist, joined in 2022. El Cachivache has recorded one live album and 12 studio albums. They perform up to 90 shows a year and showcased at the WOMEX conference in Tampere, Finland in 2019. Their live performances are filled with irreverent humor, witty repartee and an energetic “punk”
