Dub Silence is a six-piece reggae, dub, and hip-hop group from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, built around a trio of vocalists, Clément, Augustin, and Mehdi, who started making music together in 2013. The group began releasing homemade recordings online, including a reggae arrangement of a Cypress Hill track that accumulated over a million views on YouTube and helped spread their name across France. After years of regional gigging, they crowdfunded their debut album Anomalie (2019), which featured a collaboration with French reggae artist Naâman, and followed it with the instrumental dub EP Yggdrazil (2021) and their second album Equinoxe (2023).

“On va le faire” (We’re Going to Do It) is a rallying anthem from Equinoxe, addressed to everyone who keeps pushing despite obstacles: workers who never rest, young people who have left school, single mothers, immigrants who didn’t make it across the sea. The song builds verse by verse into something close to a collective declaration, carrying the energy of French reggae’s long tradition of socially engaged music: “For all the dreamers who still believe in their dreams / For all the hard workers who never take a break / Man, we’re going to do it.”
