Baptiste D’Aleman and Anatole Schoeffler, known together as De Grands Enfants, have been close friends since childhood, with Baptiste rooted in the Basque coastal town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Anatole having relocated from the Paris region after falling for the Basque Country himself. The pair formed their duo in 2020 during lockdown, sharing cover videos online, and reached a wider audience through the France 2 TV show The Artist in 2021. Along the way they’ve built collaborations with artists including Tom Frager, Boulevard des Airs, Isabelle Iturburu, and Tibz. Blending chanson and folk with a spiritual undercurrent, they released their debut album, Deux hommes à la mer (2024), and have since been shaping newer material toward a more acoustic, folk-driven sound rooted in longs unsets and oceanic imagery.

“Soyons attentifs” (Be Attentive) reflects the spiritual thread running through the duo’s songwriting, framing mindfulness and connection to nature’s cycles as central themes. “You have to feel it, attentive / The noise, the sound we make / When we breathe / Everything is unique, everything is one / Everything is tied to beauty / Since it beats alongside yours.”
