Cecílio Nena, born Cecílio Alves Martins in São Luís, Maranhão, is a Brazilian singer and composer with deep roots in the country’s coastal culture. Hailing from a region known for its rich musical heritage and Atlantic shoreline, Nena has built a lasting career writing songs that reflect the rhythms, stories, and spirit of Brazil. He gained national acclaim with “Temporal de Amor,” recorded by sertanejo duo Leandro & Leonardo, and his compositions have since been performed by artists such as Sérgio Reis, Elba Ramalho, and Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano. Known for his lyrical versatility and strong melodic sense, Nena continues to record and release music, including his 2025 EP Chora o Criador.
