Bazar et Bémols emerged in 2007 from the cafés and metro stations of Paris, where their acoustic blend of French chanson quickly earned them a following. Built around the voices and instruments of Chach’, Raphaël, and Ronand, the trio gained a reputation for energetic, heartfelt performances across France and beyond. In 2022, they expanded their sound with the addition of jazz-trained drummer Marco, who introduced new textures through a mix of acoustic and electronic percussion. The group has released four albums and continues to evolve, combining guitars, upright bass, trumpet, and congas with rich harmonies and rhythmic warmth.

With flavors of Cuban son and Argentinean tango, “Soleil dans l’orage” (“Sun in the Storm”) offers a portrait of a young woman in the Paris suburbs who overcomes hardship with resilience and grace. The lyrics describe her survival through illness and emotional battles, and her refusal to be defined by pain: “She had the courage to see sunshine in the storm / The courage to picture the future like a landscape.” The song closes on a hopeful note: “This song tells of her chance / Her song is the message.”
