Ão is a Belgian quartet made up of front woman Brenda Corijn, guitarist Siebe Chau, producer and multi-instrumentalist Jolan Decaestecker, and percussionist Bert Peyffers. Corijn, who draws from her Mozambican-Portuguese roots, sings in Portuguese and English, giving the band a distinct cultural anchor. Their music blends fado, alternative pop, Afropop, and electronica into a sound that resists easy categorization. Signed to Mayway Records, they released their debut album Ao Mar (2023) to wide acclaim in Belgium and Europe, followed by the equally praised 2026 album Malandra.
