Anna Andreu is a Catalan singer-songwriter whose spare, emotionally precise writing has positioned her among the leading voices of contemporary Catalan pop. Following the acclaimed albums Els mals costums (2020) and La mida (2022), she deepens her artistic language on Vigília (2025), a collection shaped by nocturnal tension, suspended thought, and the fragile space between memory and desire. Working closely with drummer and violinist Marina Arrufat and producer Jordi Matas, Andreu transforms minimal arrangements into something expansive and resonant. Her songs are rooted in natural imagery and quiet intensity, where intimacy becomes luminous and restraint carries weight.

“Roja i espessa” (Red and Thick) opens the album with a striking metaphor of transformation, moving from vulnerability to hardened resolve. “Under your steady gaze / I hid inside a crack / Now I am red and thick lava / Tomorrow the rock that does not move.” The imagery of lava cooling into stone mirrors emotional survival, while silence becomes its own force: “And your mouth turns mute / And no longer waits for me.” Through elemental language, the song traces the passage from exposure to self-possession.
