Adri Paiz (Panama)

Adri Paiz is a Panamanian singer-songwriter whose music reflects the cultural mix of her coastal homeland and a wide range of Afro-Caribbean and Latin influences. She describes her approach as sancocho sonoro, a reference to the traditional Panamanian stew, blending styles such as flamenco, R&B, bachata, salsa, reggae, bolero, and other Latin rhythms into a single, fluid sound. Her debut album, Mar y Amar (2025), brings these influences together in a cohesive body of work centered on love, friendship, self-discovery, and emotional resilience. Produced by Pablo Governatori and Dominic Moreno, the album positions Paiz as an artist focused on songwriting and vocal expression rather than genre boundaries, drawing from both contemporary Latin music and older Caribbean song traditions.

“Guapo” (Handsome), from her album Mar y Amar, unites reggae and Caribbean roots influences with Adri’s vibrant vocal style. The song reflects a positive and playful take on love and admiration, with lyrics that celebrate both physical attraction and deeper emotional connections. “I love the way you look at me / How your smile takes away all my stress / I’m fascinated by your face when you see me dance / And when you say you’ll always be by

my side.”
