David Edson Tayorault, whose is affectionately known as “TED” or “Totorino the Samurai,” is a prominent figure in the Ivorian music scene. As a talented singer, songwriter, and composer, he has released eight albums showcasing his eclectic influences, including jazz, blues, soul, zouk and samba. He got his start in 1984 at age 16 as the lead singer for the popular band Woya. After the band broke up, Tayorault, who is also a skilled arranger, multi-instrumentalist, and intuitive producer, has played a crucial role in the success of numerous African artists. He is notably behind the arrangement of the global hit "Premier Gaou" by Magic System. Discovered by Senegalese superstar Youssou N'Dour, Tayorault re-arranged several of N'Dour's hits. He has also contributed to the Bisso Na Bisso rap collective and arranged the popular track "C'est dans la joie" for Franco-Malian rapper Mokobé.
